Selwood Science and Puzzles

Selwood Science and Puzzles is located at 41 Railway Pde. Hazelbrook between Springwood and Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains National Park, around 90 minutes from Sydney city. (Turn under the railway line at Hazelbrook, then turn left 400m), Selwood is a fun place for the whole family, full of hands-on activities and displays that are continuously being developed.

If you are looking for a gift for a child or adult, you are bound to find something here. There is well over 1000 different items suitable for all ages. A selection of them can be found in this on-line catalogue.

The puzzle room is full of all types of puzzles, many of them opened up and just waiting to be solved by budding Einsteins. Jigsaws, as well as wood, metal, educational, executive, and just fun puzzles are here. You name it and we could have it in stock.

The book room is absolutely full of different puzzle and science books. Just look at the categories in this on-line catalogue gives you an idea of the range. There are puzzle and maze books ranging from easy to challenging and then to downright difficult. A real challenge for even the best lateral and logical thinkers. Many science books are packed with experiments that can easily be done at home using everyday materials.

The science room has science kits and toys that are mainly for students who would like to understand more. These include dinosaurs, electricity, crystal growing, chemistry sets to name a few. You will be amazed at the number of science activities that can be found in the one place.

Selwood Science also conduct during school holidays, workshops suitable for students aged 5 - 13 years. Look at "Workshops" (in our catalogue on the left) for current holiday program, or we can visit to your school and conduct hands-on activities or demonstrations in your classroom. During your next visit to the Mountains allow an hour or two and drop into Selwood Science & Puzzles and have some fun. Parking is easy and Selwood is closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays outside school holidays, otherwise open every day during school holidays except Christmas, Boxing Day, New Years Day and Good Friday, Hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, 10am-4:30pm Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays.
