Selwood Science and Puzzles is located in the mid mountains at Hazelbrook, near Lawson, between Springwood and Katoomba, in the Blue Mountains National Park, around 90 minutes from Sydney Region and very easily reached from the Western Suburbs. If driving, turn under the railway line at Hazelbrook, then turn left to 41 Railway Pde.
Selwood is becoming a growing tourist attraction and an important education resource centre as there are many hands-on activities and educational gifts available.
In September 2007 Selwood Science & Puzzles was awarded "BEST CHILD FRIENDLY" business in the Blue Mountains & also won the HARRY HAMMOND GOLD AWARD as the best business in the mountains. Selwood Science & Puzzles also made the finals in the "INNOVATION" catagory in 2008 & in the "RETAIL SHOPPING" catagory in 2009.

The Puzzle Room is full of all types of puzzles, jigsaws, including 3D jigsaw puzzles, as well as wood, metal, educational, executive, and much more including the Binary Arts range.
The Bookshop is absolutely full of different puzzle and science books. There are puzzle and maze books ranging from easy to brainteaser & Mensa teasers. A real challenge for even the best lateral and logical thinkers. Biology and maths books, murder mystery and chess books also feature.
The Science lab has science kits and toys that are mainly for students and the enthusiast who would like to understand more. These include dinosaur, electricity, electronics, crystal growing, engineering and chemistry sets to name a few. You will be amazed at the number of science activities we have using common chemicals found around the house. There are also many items from the CSIRO Double Helix Science Club catalogue continually in stock.
Selwood Science also conducts School Holiday Kids Activity Workshops suitable for students, aged 5 - 13 years. Look at "Workshops" (in our catalogue on the left) for current school holiday program, or we visit your school and conduct hands-on activities, projects and demonstrations in your classroom. You will find a range of specialty items; dinosaurs to tempt the budding palaeontologist, telescopes for the amateur astronomy buff, powerful enough for viewing the moon and closer planets in the solar system, and star gazing, magic tricks and optical illusions etc.
